[Review] Kanjani 8; Tsubusa ni Koi; Single

Sold over 70,000 for its first day sales, Tsubusa ni Koi is the fourth single this year by Kanjani8 (Eito hereon). Compared to TWL/Yellow Pansy Street and My Home, this single is just normal, there’s nothing much to rant about. The song is nice to listen to and the PV is okay, there is nothing special about either of it, and somehow it does appeal to me, but not as much as My Home did.

The PV is fairly simple but being Eito, they can get away with almost anything. I mean who gets away with wearing purple shirt and green jacket or pink jacket and gold tie. Again this time they did the band setting like Yellow Pansy Street PV, but less energy for me. The song is nice to listen to but not that memorable. Well, why not have a listen while at it.

So like most Eito single, this one comes in 2 editions as well (I wonder why most other group has 3 and Eito usually gets 2). Anyways, there the Regular edition with 4 songs and 4 karaoke tracks and Limited edition with 2 songs and a DVD with the PV and it’s making.

The making is always fun to watch, you can see them not as idols instead as just another working person. I like how Eito are always humble and kind of aho-ish most of the time off camera and on camera but they turn a total 180 degrees when shooting time came.

As for the extra songs, I to U really gets stuck in my head and the others are well just okay. These are the editions and links for them.

All in all, this single was not up to my expectation after My Home but since this is after 365 Nichi Kazoku, it sort of expected from Eito. Also since this is released for Nishikido Ryo’s drama (again) called Zenkai Girl, and most of them also have other commitments, such as a drama special and also radio shows and other regular programming, this single was expected to be not as fabulous as My Home and TWL/Yellow Pantsy Street. I’d give a painful 3.5 out of 5 (3.5/5).
