[Review] 'Trust M' a Live Dance Performance.

Good afternoon lovelies,

After this site changed into a quartet writer who has no time on their hands to write anything beside their work and almost no time to think of a good or even worthy review for readers to look into (we are not of writing background and two of us are not even native speakers), let me be the first to grace this page with my review for a live show.

I have yet to experience such a dance show that is full of energy and filled with passion. This show certainly fulfilled my needs and craving for good arts. It has been a while since I have seen such great performances may it be dance, acting or other form of arts. I went for two shows which is in the afternoon (around 3pm) and in the evening (around 7pm). What can I say about these people is that they are very determined and their level of concentration was amazing.

For the first show, my seat was very near the stage, hence abling me to see most of the action and their movement up close. Despite some missable flaw and maybe lack of space, the movement dynamics and the lines were not to say impeccable but very very clean. I would not categorize them as professional dancer alongside Tabitha and Napoleon or Mia Michaels, but these people are dedicated into making their art almost perfect.

For the second show, all I can say about them is that, their spirit is amazing. They do look a little exhausted after the fifth or sixth performance but they keep going and moving till the very last part of the show. One thing was clear in their face. Determination. Probably their determination to make the show perfect was too intense that there are a few fumbles here and there but it was just amazing to see their art full of fortitude and soul.

On to the dance number comments. Although the numbers are not related or even continuous, it’s more like each of the 12 dancers were given one number to choreograph and to produce each and every track themselves. Think of it this way, instead of each leaf of a book, it’s more like each section of a magazine. Also if we look at it deeply, the movement and their faces and their heart in the song, somehow the story comes out.

I could not choose which of the number is my favorite, as all of them was just amazingly choreographed and amazingly executed. Though one that made gave me the chills and brings tears to my eyes was the one choreographed by a guy. I’m not sure what is was about really, but in my own interpretation it was about a guy torn between two best friends and no matter how bad or how far the other girl went, her friend was still there for her even though her heart was shattered. Somehow the guy too was torn between them and could not decide which of them is meant for him. Though in the end friendship won over any relationship.

The girl dancers were very much powerful and very well trained from the very beginning of the performances. The lines were not perfect but it was beautifully executed. The curly haired boy though, his line were comparable to Joshua Allen as his line were perfect.

The usage of music was not bad, but the fact that it’s not connected by any means makes it quite nice. The pace started not too fast, but it gradually builds up and towards the end it slowed down and there was a little boom at the end. Usage of space though was amazing. The space was not that big, compared to performances that I have been to, it would be considered a little small, but their control of space and audience was astonishing.

The costume shifts too was quite nicely played. It started off with all dancers wearing white costume and it transitioned into their own colored costume and finally they all wore black. In my mind it make sense as if the white is a pure un painted baby, and then life mould and colored us in our own specific colors and then as time went on we will all just fade and pass on our life work to the younger generation as when our future then turns black.

What’s amazing about a live show is that now two shows are exactly the same. Of course each shows prone to have their own pros and cons. For the first show the execution seems a little all over the place and a little messy compared to the second show which seems much much neater and much more organized. Yet, in the second show the dancers seems a little out of breath sometimes. Yet the fire in the first show was burned even brighter in the second show that is covers almost all the flaws.

All I can say is that both show is just amazing and the dancers themselves seems like they had much fun doing it for people who was watching and for themselves. I really cannot rate this show as it was so amazing for me yet it was beautifully flawed. From the sincerest of my heart I would rate this show a fair eight and a half out of ten (8.5/10) for both shows.
