[Review] Tackey & Tsubasa; Our Future Concert

I’m back after quite a long hiatus for no reason really. Moving to Japan and I have gotten used to being here for a while really but the thing is, I didn’t have the drive to really write. Since I owe a lot to a lot of people, let me start with the latest concert I have been to, yesterday in fact.

「Our Future」is the name of the or the theme of the concert and some parts of the background display was actually in 3D (beat that NKOTBSB). It was nice. Ah, it was a Tackey & Tsubasa concert really.

Where do I start? I did not really go there to see them and I fail miserably at remembering the song names as well as the flow as I was not paying much attention to the main act themselves but to the dancers and the band accompanying band instead.

Well the concert is entertaining and T&T was not bad themselves, but 4U are awesome dancers. I give that to them. The execution of dance were effortless and very much perfect. Although (I sound very biased) some steps were a little sloppy here and there and Matsuzaki and Fukuda was off step (or was it Koshioka and Tatsumi) for a couple of song but the rest of it was perfect.

My favorite in the concert would have to be「Diamond」and 4U rendition of BGF. Hey they sound all wrong and they do NOT, I repeat DO NOT have the best voice in Johnny’s but the comedy and the way they had done it was parallel to what (my bias again) Kanjani8 did.

I would never though Matsuzaki would sound that romantic when he sings, I thought he has a deeper voice and Fukuda’s voice is just weird. In 4U, Koshioka and Tatsumi might be the only one who can really sing, and that is just not bad, really, but who cares about their voice when they can dance like an angel floating on clouds?

They Budou were also amazing and so was the rest of M.A.D and MADE (okay I have no idea of their names because the ones I knew are all out of Johnny’s already) but they were amazing dancers compared to other Juniors that were there.「Spazzing Mode」Yamamoto Ryota was too cute to be human and too way too spazzy to be over 5 years old. He’s so cute and very very awesome at what he does.

I’ll continue my flail about the dancer later but for now let me give some space to the accompanying musician Five. Though my favorite t\keyboard player「Ishigaki Daisuke」is not there, but the band was good. Hey, I’m not an amazing listener, so the whole song sounded fine to me. I would not know if there was a glitch anywhere anyway. But I was surprised that Five are actually great singers. Compared to T&T Five were much better.

T&T were fun and funny. Tackey keep getting bullied by Imai-san and they were cute together on stage as well. The opening with them holding each other’s hand was a little gay for me though. Although I do think that JE boys are not really straight anyways.

Right I almost forgot, senpai Sakamoto of V6 was there and he was looking really delicious… yeah to be in an arena with him, to breathe the same air and look at what he was seeing is really a great time for me. I was blessed. I think people were more excited to see him rather than to see T&T for some reason because almost everyone beside me shrieked when they T&T said it was Sakamoto-san as the guest and it was much louder compared to when they first appeared on stage yesterday.

Back to the dancers. I don’t think there is a dance style that these four boys cannot do. I mean they exhibited everything from Pop to a light break dancing, I know they could do more than what they did. Besides, Fukuda’s arm is just getting bigger by the times I see him. He used to be stick thin and he is really really well build from what I saw yesterday (thank you to the person who sat to me whom I borrowed her bino to spy on the boys) and his arms and build generally are just love.

All in all, the con was a little better than I expected and it is one of the experience that I will never forget not to mention that people are warmer to you when you have a similar interest with them despite the language and knowledge barriers.

This concert is getting a fair seven and a half out of ten (7.5/10) for the satisfaction and also the awesome guest that was there. 5 points goes to the dancers though. ^_^
