[Review] Remember Me

My hope was not high for this film hence maybe the lack of disappointment at the end of the film. Although, this film is an okay proof of that Robert Pattinson can actually act and not only as a brooding, boring blood sucker but as a human being that actually has emotions. But, the shrieking of teens and tweens at the face of Robert Pattinson annoys me.

I went in the movie just because of Pierce Brosnan really; I did not read the synopsis or early review about this story, hence not knowing the essence of this story (which I rarely does when I am picking a movie). Exploiting the feelings and stories of victims of 9/11 is very not cool. Although, this film somehow sort of refresh me and my friends’ memory about the event. Not saying that the event was fully forgotten but we were trying not to grieve about it as much. After this film, all of us agreed that this film actually ripped open a nearly healed wound.

Even though indie film is known for its eccentricness and originality, this film lacks every aspect of it. The characters are very over emotionalized except for Tyler’s sister who lacks any emotion. But her acting was not bad though. I find it funny though that for me the character of Tyler’s roommate who has a minor part in the film, is most appealing (clap, clap to Tate Ellington).

The main reason for me to watch this piece was to watch both Robert Pattinson and Pierce Brosnan, sadly though, both of them had done much better job in their previous works (R. Pattz was quite a character in The Haunted Airman and needless to say about the iconic Mr. Bond) yet, it does not show at all in this film. Emilie de Ravin was not bad but she was much better in Lost.

I’d advice for fanatic fans of Robert, Emilie and Pierce to go watch this movie. Otherwise, waiting for the DVD release will be worth the wait. I’m giving this movie a fair two out of five (2/5) for the reason it made me cry for the memories it brought back at the end.

XOXO,
Girl with the Rouge Lips
